2025 – Mauldin High School Reality Check Announcement

Mauldin, SC — MTC Federal Credit Union is proud to continue its partnership with Mauldin High School for the third annual Reality Check Event on April 5, 2025. This event is part of a five-year commitment between MTC Federal and Mauldin High School, aimed at equipping students with essential financial literacy skills that will help them navigate real-world financial challenges.

Last year, the Reality Check Event engaged over 300 students in an interactive financial literacy simulation, providing hands-on experience in budgeting, managing expenses, and making informed financial decisions. The event has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, teachers, and volunteers, highlighting its impact on preparing students for financial independence.

“At MTC Federal, we believe that financial success starts with education,” said Bill Love, CEO of MTC Federal Credit Union. “By opening the conversation about personal finances early, we’re helping students build a strong foundation for their future. The Reality Check Event provides an opportunity for students to experience real-world financial decision-making in a safe and supportive environment—ensuring they step into adulthood with confidence and knowledge.”

Financial literacy is a critical life skill, and MTC Federal is dedicated to ensuring that young individuals have the tools they need to make sound financial choices. The Reality Check Event is one of many initiatives that demonstrate MTC Federal’s commitment to supporting financial education and strengthening the community.

MTC Federal looks forward to another impactful Reality Check Event on Saturday, April 5, 2025, and remains committed to empowering students with the financial knowledge they need for long-term success.
